This was yesterday:
This is today:
I woke up this morning and immediately realized something was kinda wrong. So, here's a list of things that can happen while your probably having a miscarriage:
1) Some dumb chick calls from another company and asks for your help in an area that you're totally unfamiliar with, and while you're trying to get her the info she needs, she hangs up on you.
2) Your team has a Mexican potluck for your co-worker's birthday.
3) You see some dude that used to work for your company that is back, using your company's conference room for his new company's meeting.
4) You realize that this isn't the same innocuous incident that happened in your previous pregnancy, and when you talk to the doctor, although she tries to reassure you, she ends the call by saying, "I'm sorry".
4b) You and your buddy create the coolest hand-made birthday card ever for a co-worker. She is completely delighted by it.
5) Your best friend takes time off work to accompany you to the lab for bloodwork.
6) Once home, your daughter uses the word "dick" in the appropriate context, which totally sends your husband over the edge.
7) You eat a bunch of cadbury mini eggs in despair, even though you know they contain red 40 food dye, which is a known hazard to pregnancies...but by this time you've already given up anyway.
8) You then find an article on the internet about cytokines and their role in miscarriage, and realize that even though you knew it at the time, you still in a state of denial, ate wheat on Thanksgiving, which is probably why you are miscarrying today.
9) Although you already ate the cadbury eggs and the Thanksgiving dinner, you summon one last effort to save this pregnancy by not eating pizza (more wheat), taking two fish oil pills (to neutralize the cytokines), drinking 4 cups of water (more neutralization), and taking a nap (the book says so).
10) You see the most amazing movie you've seen in a long time, I Am Legend, and the ending sends you straight into tears as you realize how much your life sucks right now, especially since you already told the whole world you were pregnant, and you are probably going to not graduate this semester.
Tomorrow's a new day...
