One day on my walk through life I found
The most perfect of places
The most beautiful little corner where nothing is wrong
The grass is like silk against my skin
The leaves from a willow tree brushing the ground
I lay in the grass
Look up through the leaves
Beautiful
I could lay there for hours
To stare at her
Her skin shines through the leaves,
Makes me smile
All I want is to lay with her,
Perfection
My safe little corner
I am content to stay here
Without warning the scene changes
The willow runs
Her branches swaying as she escapes
A rabbit’s flight from a hunter
The world plunges into darkness
Her memory remains
Her perfection haunts me
So close was I to the haven of her arms
To her sweet caress
It’s all gone now
I’m left alone to the unforgiving darkness
She’s in my heart
An ever burning flame to keep the sorrow at bay
I sit in the grass waiting for the day that she comes back to me
My perfection
when she smiles, the rain stops and all is right with the world.
